The Primary Tibetan Teacher Training Program is an eighteen-month long teacher education program offered to young Tibetans who have an undergraduate certification from a recognized university with a minimum aggregate score of 50%. The program offers in-depth teaching methodologies, both macro and micro-teaching, all in the Tibetan language. Child Psychology, Educational Psychology, Modern and Traditional Teaching Pedagogy as well as Arts and Crafts, Health, and Environmental Education are also offered under the curriculum.
The Tibetan Parliament in Exile passed a resolution entitled Basic Education Policy (BEP) for Tibetan schools in exile in 2004, and it is upon this policy that the core of the primary Tibetan Teacher Training is based. (See the policy here: http://tibetcorps.org/files/Resources/bep_english.pdf )
