How to Help

Make a Donation

A gift to the College for Higher Tibetan Studies at Sarah village will help empower, educate and support young Tibetans and Trans-Himalayan youths to learn their language and culture and, contribute to the Tibetan nation building. Many IBD and CHTS alumni take up jobs in the Tibetan exile government and in other communities in various capacities as teachers, writers, journalists, translators, community leaders and in many more valuable positions. If you would like to make a general donation, we will direct your gift towards the area of greatest need. Or if you wish you can designate your gift to a specific project, such as supporting teachers’ salaries, education programs, and scholarships.

Please send us an email through the Contact Us form if you would like to learn more about sponsoring a student or making any other donations >>

Sponsor a Student
A majority of the students are granted scholarships which cover their food, shelter, education and health care. Once a student is accepted into our programs, scholarships form the heart of our program.

  • US $65 a month will help us to cover the needs of  a student in the Buddhist Philosophy program or an undergraduate in the Tibetan Studies program.
  • US $100 month will help us to cover the costs of a student in the Masters program.

Please send us an email through the Contact Us form if you would like to learn more about providing the educational needs of a student  >>

Research and Publication
Research and publication is an important project of the college and some of our publications have received positive feed back from the community. However, this is one of the key areas which we need to focus on both in terms of money and quality. A donation of any amount is welcome towards this project. Your contribution will be used to publish college annual publications and specific translation and research works by the students and faculty.

Dietary Supplement Project
The College provide basic meals to the students and faculty but any contribution towards the special diet project is highly appreciated. This project will provide diet supplement like fruits, milk and other nutritious food for the overall health and wellness of the students and faculty.

We are extremely grateful for Ann Down supplementary diet program received through the TCEWF, Department of Education, Central Tibetan Administration, Dharamshala.
